Seorang marketer bisa melakukan bidding terhadap kata kunci yang mereka mau, dengan harapan setiap orang yang melakukan pencarian dengan kata kunci/keyword tersebut akan memilih website iklan mereka. Nah, terdapat macam-macam format dalam SEM yaitu diantaranya ada yang berbentuk text, berbentuk produk (Product Listing Ads / Shopping Ads), berbentuk review, rating, dan harga yang bersifat visual. Search market yang berbentuk format text biasanya menggunakan Google Adwords, Yahoo Gemini, dan Bing. Tapi biasanya Google Adwords menjadi salah satu pilihan metode yang sangat populer diantara metode Search marketing yang lainnya.

Sekilas tentang Google Adwords Anda pasti sebelumnya sudah sering melihat iklan Google Adwords pada hasil mesin pencarian. Mungkin Anda masih belum menyadari terms dari Google Adwords disini kami akan memberi penjelasan contoh dari iklan Google Adwords dengan kata kunci “jual laptop”. Karna pasalnya pengguna Google berada di seluruh dunia bahkan mencapai angka milyaran. Bila situs website atau produkmu ditemukan dan di klik oleh pengguna Google, maka tentunya akan meningkatkan brandawareness. Google pun menyatakan bahwa iklan pada hasil penelusuran bisa meningkatkan brand awareness hingga 80%.

Selain meningkatkan brand awareness, Search Marketing termasuk tools yang sangat menguntungkan. Karena Search Marketing bisa diatur, mulai dari waktu sampai target audiens. Kemudian keuntungan yang didapatkan yaitu Search Marketing bisa dilakukan dengan budget yang terbatas, jadi seorang marketers bisa membayar biaya search marketing ini sesuai budget yang dimiliki. Marketers hanya membayar iklan jika pengguna internet mengunjungi situsnya. Keuntungan SEM yang lain juga bisa meningkatkan konversi. Sederhananya konversi berarti bagaimana usaha Anda menjaring pengguna internet bisa menghasilkan transaksi atau hal lainnya yang menguntungkan. SEM sendiri memang penggerak konversi yang baik untuk semua jenis kampanye yang ingin dilakukan. Mengapa? Karena iklan yang berbayar biasanya dilink kan ke website khusus dengan tujuan konversi. 

Dengan begitu akan ada suatu proses mulai dari iklan ads sampai pengguna internet mengklik iklan ads tersebut, dan sampailah pada sebuah website yang menyediakan sarana transaksi disinilah diharapkan ketika pengunjung website tidak hanya berkunjung, tapi juga melakukan tindakan yang menjadi goal bisnis Anda yaitu juga melakukan transaksi. Nah disini Anda akan menyadari bahwa iklan ads yang dipasang biasanya lebih cocok menjadi tujuan konversi akhir.
